Beef Suya Skewers

Street-style skewers, dusted heavily with yaji and grilled hot. Best eaten standing up with sliced onion and tomato.

Ingredients

  • Beef rump or sirloin600 g, sliced thin
  • Suya pepper spice4 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil2 tbsp
  • Bamboo skewers8, soaked
  • Onion + tomato + cucumberto serve

Steps

  1. 1

    Thread the beef onto skewers in folds.

  2. 2

    Brush lightly with oil, then dust generously with suya spice on both sides.

  3. 3

    Grill on high heat for 4 minutes a side, dusting again halfway through.

  4. 4

    Rest for 2 minutes. Serve with sliced raw onion, tomato and cucumber.
